Abstracts

Some paintings don't ask to be understood — they ask to be felt. Kate Ferrell's abstract work lives in that space: color and movement that pull you in, compositions that settle differently depending on the day, the light, the mood you bring to them.

Rooted in Kate's background in clinical social work, these paintings function as a visual mindfulness practice — a place to exhale. Works like Wherever I Went, Meandering, and Glimmer use layered mixed media to build depth and texture that rewards time spent with them. Several pieces in this collection have been exhibited & sold publicly, including at Spotlight on Art & Soundwaves Gallery at Geodis Park in Nashville, and the series continues to grow.

Abstract originals are available in a range of sizes, from smaller works starting under $200 to large statement pieces, and many work beautifully as a collected pair or grouping. Each is a one-of-a-kind original — not a print. Custom art is available by contacting the artist. Do you have a stack of papers or memorabilia you're not sure what to do with — ticket stubs, programs from plays or concerts, handwritten notes, kids' doodles, cards, or invitations? Kate would love to create a custom abstract collage for you or a loved one as a way to honor the moments those pieces represent.

Kate is a Nashville-based mixed media artist whose work has been selected for juried and invitational shows across the Southeast. If you're looking for original abstract art that brings both energy and calm into a room, you're in the right place.
