The title of this piece comes from one of the several collage pieces layered in. I tend to use found (vs purchased) papers in my work. While working on this piece I picked up a scrap from my International Justice Center newsletter - a handwritten letter from a survivor of human trafficking that read, "I Choose to Become".
The botanicals in this piece are a symbol of the possibility of human flourishing when nourished with freedom and love for one another.
